Karni Sena national president Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi was killed in broad daylight by unknown gunmen on Tuesday in Rajasthan’s Jaipur. According to reports, unidentified intruders fired at Gogamedi and his gunman Narendra at his house.

The incident took place at Shyam Nagar behind Dana Pani restaurant.

Gogamedi succumbed to his injuries during treatment in the hospital.

Shyam Nagar police reached the site of the incident and scoured the CCTV footage for any clues about the assailants. According to police, two more people were injured during the attack.

Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi had received threats from Sampat Nehra of Lawrence Bishnoi gang in the past. He had also informed Jaipur police about the threat.

Earlier this year in June, a local functionary of Karni Sena was found dead under mysterious circumstances with bullet wounds in his car in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore city.

According to a PTI report, the body of 27-year-old Mohit Patel, the district working president of the Karni Sena, was found in his car under the Kanadiya police station area. At first glance, it appeared two bullets were pumped into his chest from point-blank range, Additional Commissioner of Police Jayant Rathore said.

PROTESTS ERUPT ACROSS JAIPUR

Supporters of Karni Sena stage massive protests across the city after Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena Chief was shot dead by unidentified assailants on Tuesday.

BJP STATEMENT ON THE MURDER KARNI SENA CHIEF

The Bharatiya Janata Party released a statement on Tuesday expressing grief over Gogamedi’s death. BJP leader CP Joshi expressed his shock and questioned why Gehlot government did not provide security to the Karni Sena Chief despite his repeated requests.

“After this massacre, we have talked to top police officials and asked for the early arrest of the accused. Efforts will also be made to make strict laws for such criminals in the state,” he further said.

UNION MINISTER SHEKHAWAT REACTS

Commenting on the murder of Gogamedi, Union minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, said, “He wasn’t given adequate security even after he reported about threats to his life to the police. After forming govt in Rajasthan, we will ensure peace and calm in the state.”

He further assured that those involved in this incident will not be spared and also appealed to the public to maintain peace.
