Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal is breaking one record after another at the box office. The film has been in theatres for a week now and shows no signs of slowing down. Soon, it will be the best-earning film of Ranbir’s career, after Sanju which earned Rs 342.53 crore upon its release in theatres in 2018.
Until Wednesday, Animal earned Rs 312.96 crore nett in the domestic market. Now, on its seventh day in the cinema halls, the film got good occupancy in the morning and afternoon shows, leading to an earning of Rs 15.13 crore. This brings the film’s total collection to Rs 328.48 crore. Globally, the film’s collection stands at Rs 527.6 crore after six days, as per T-Series, the production banner behind the film.
Animal is Ranbir’s only third film to have crossed the Rs 250 crore mark after Sanju and Brahmastra – Part One: Shiva (Rs 257.44 crore). The actor had started his career with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya which couldn’t bring him the desired success. His first Rs 100 crore scorer came in 2012 with Anurag Basu’s Barfi.
Not just Ranbir, Animal’s success is also special for Bobby Deol, who has a short yet impactful role in the film. The actor was even seen getting emotional with the kind of love the audience has been showering on him for his performance in the film.
Animal has a chance to pull more audience in the coming week as there are no major releases. It will only face competition from Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki which will hit the theatres on December 21.
