Cyclone Michaung: Landfall Process On, Eye Of Storm Near AP’s Bapatla; 17 Rain-Related Deaths in Chennai

Cyclone Michaung: Cyclonic storm ‘Michaung’ (pronounced as Migjaum), is likely to make landfall near Bapatla in Andhra Pradesh’s Bapatla at around 1:30 pm on Tuesday, December 5, according to India Meteorological Department (IMD). The cyclone has triggered heavy rainfall in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, with Chennai and its surrounding districts bearing the maximum brunt of it. So far, at least 17 people have died in rain-related incidents in Chennai, while property worth crores has been damaged. However, the rain has subsided in Chennai and flight operations are back on track.
