Watch: Fire destroys old Wada in Pune’s Kasba Peth with lot of wooden structures | Pune News

An old wada in Kasba Peth caught fire in the early hours of Monday. No casualties were reported in the incident.

Control room of the Pune Fire Brigade received a call around 4 am regarding fire at an three storeyed old wada located in a lane in Kasba Peth.

Fire officials said there were no residents in the old and dilapidated wada for the last many years.

Six fire tenders and water tankers were pressed into action. Fire officer K Chowdhary said, “Cause of fire was not known. But there was a lot of wooden structure in the old wada. Front side of the wada is two storeys and the rear side has three floors. It took about an hour to douse the flames and bring the situation under control. Wada was closed for the last two decades. Nobody was present inside. No person was hurt in the fire incident.”
