A 17-year-old Class 12 student from Kanpur was killed after he lost control of his two-wheeler while trying to overtake another vehicle and collided with an oncoming auto-rickshaw. The accident was captured on a CCTV camera installed in the area, the video of which has gone viral.

According to reports, the boy was identified as Arjun. The incident took place on December 5, as per the time stamp on the CCTV footage. His family reportedly told police that Arjun had gone to attend a wedding with a friend and stayed the night. In the morning at 8, he borrowed his friend’s two-wheeler for some work and the accident took place when he was returning.
In the video, it can be seen that Arjun is riding the two-wheeler without a helmet and dodges a stray cattle while trying to overtake another vehicle. He loses control of the two-wheeler and falls, hitting his head on the tyre of an auto-rickshaw coming from the opposite side.
Police said Arjun died on the spot and they informed his friend about the accident, following which the body was sent for a post-mortem.
