Apple did not announce any new iPads in 2023, and the company is speculated to refresh the entire lineup of iPads in 2024. According to the latest report by Bloomberg, the upcoming iPads will be less confusing and help the company boost sales.

Apple’s current lineup of iPads is slightly complex and contains multiple models, including entry-level iPads with/without USB-C ports, iPad mini, iPad Air, and the iPad Pro lineup to cater to different users with varying use cases.

While the name of these iPads makes them unique, some of these models offer almost similar features and capabilities. For example, the latest 11-inch iPad Air is just a few mm thicker and heavier than the 11-inch iPad Pro, and both variants are powered by the same M2 chip, with the display being the major differentiator. Similarly, the 10th Gen iPad is also as good as the 5th Gen iPad Air, except for the chipset.

According to the report, the upcoming iPad lineup will be similar to the MacBook lineup, which is much easier to understand by making some fundamental changes to all variants of the iPad lineup, including the Pro and the Air.

Starting with the iPad Pro with 11-inch and 13-inch options is expected to be powered by the M3 chip and is also said to feature an OLED screen, for the first time ever on an iPad along with a new array of accessories including an upgraded Magic Keyboard. The iPad Air is also said to arrive in two sizes — 10.9-inch and 12.9-inch, which makes them slightly smaller than the Pro lineup with an IPS screen and M2 series of processors. The existing Magic Keyboard is said to be compatible with the upcoming iPad Air models.

Festive offer

Lastly, the 11th Gen iPad, which will phase out of the 9th Gen iPad, the last iPad with a home button and a lightning connector. The company would also announce a new iPad mini, and these two models will be primarily focused on educational institutions and for those, who are looking for an affordable tablet computer. However, these aren’t due at least until late 2024.
