Revanth, during his address, said the people of Telangana silently suffered suppression for the last 10 years and today (Thursday) is the actual day of liberation. He promised equitable development across Telangana from Adilabad to Alampur and Khammam to Kodangal as his “people’s government” took charge. Stating that he is not there to rule but only to serve, Revanth said he would be an elder brother and not the sacrifices of the people of Telangana go in vain.

As promised during the campaign phase, the first two files Revanth signed in front of the people were regarding the implementation of the six guarantees of the Congress party and the order appointing a physically-disabled person, T Rajani, in government service.

Y Satish, an ecstatic youngster from Warangal, said, “We wish our Revanth anna to fulfil all the promises made by the party to the people as early as possible, reinstate democracy and present the best so that people can forget KCR and never vote him back.”

Syed Anwar Ahmed, who came from Kamareddy, said the people of Telangana have given their overwhelming support to the Congress party in ousting the BRS. “It is Revanth Reddy’s responsibility as the chief minister to do his best to fulfill the promises and uphold the faith they have reposed in him,” he said.

Linga Reddy from Adilabad said it is “bye bye KCR” forever as the Congress is starting a people’s government under Revanth. “Congress will bring development in Telangana. The farmers will now get a loan waiver of Rs 2 lakh, people will get increased pensions and women will get monetary assistance. KCR will retire from politics and will not be seen hereafter,” he added.

Shabna Begum from Secunderabad said the BRS government was a big disappointment and the Congress, which has received the mandate, should prioritise public needs over the next five years. “This government must fill the vacancies at the earliest and fulfil all the six promises.”

Adding that the outgoing BRS government under KCR was “anti-people” and “anti-farmer”, Ashok Reddy from Adilabad said the state will see rapid progress in all the sectors under the Congress party.
