The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) is planning to appoint a consultant in an effort to decongest traffic in the commercial hub of Bandra Kurla Complex, which houses several corporate firms.

Over the years, the MMRDA has tried to develop road infrastructure in BKC, which is spread over 370 hectares. However, in view of the burgeoning growth of the central business district, there have been frequent complaints from various stakeholders about the incessant traffic jams in the area.

MMRDA commissioner Dr Sanjay Mukherjee recently visited key areas in BKC that frequently experience heavy traffic, particularly congested junctions.
