How did you prepare for NEET UG?

I made up my mind in Class 9 that I would prepare for NEET UG and be a doctor and therefore I focussed more on biology. In Class 10, I also appeared and qualified for the National Talent Search Examination (NTSE). Preparing for NTSE helped in my board exams and aided in my NEET UG preparation.

I got enrolled in a coaching programme for the medical entrance test in my Class 9 only. I did not put much effort into the school classes and focussed more on NEET preparation during Class 11 and Class 12. I used to watch the online videos at my own pace and followed the schedule provided by the coaching institute.

Festive offer

After my coaching classes were over in September, I studied in the morning and appeared for mock tests in the afternoon session, mostly from 2 pm to 5 pm. I scheduled my mock test timing considering NEET UG is held between 2 pm and 5 pm.

I bought a random MCQ book from the market and solved it four to five times. Also, the test booklets shared by the coaching were attempted multiple times.

While receiving the IGNITE Award 2017 from President Pranab Mukherjee. The idea of inventing the note sterilising machine came to the twin brothers' mind when a cycle-repairing man exchanged some dirty notes with them and they thought how about thinking of some ways that can sterilise the currency notes in the ATM only The NEET UG rank holder received the IGNITE Award 2017 from the President of India Pranab Mukherjee.

How did you revise the NEET UG topics?

For physics and chemistry, I attempted mock tests. I used to mark the questions which I got wrong in the first or second attempt. During revision, I made sure to check where I went wrong and made my concepts clear. For biology, I repeatedly read the chapters from NCERT.

I also appeared for the mock test papers available on the NTA website. I felt they were more difficult than the actual test. I appeared in several mock test papers from there.

Do you remember any question that took longer to answer and was difficult?

Yes. A question on morphology was difficult. I attempted it and it was wrong. Candidates who are aiming for a rank in NEET UG should not skip any question. Candidates should try to answer the questions which they think are the most correct or the least wrong. I attempted many questions from the difficulty level and got them correct.

Did you get nervous during your preparation days? How did you destress?

I did get nervous during my preparation. I used to play lawn tennis to calm me down.

What would you recommend to NEET UG 2024 aspirants?

– Practice everything over and over again
– Stay consistent with the preparation
– Taking tests in the 2 pm to 5 pm slot helped me
– NCERT should not be ignored
– Give some time to hobbies as well
– Never take stress

What do you aim to do after MBBS?

I would apply for USMLE and do my PG abroad and come back to India and serve the people here.
