A software engineer allegedly fell to her death from the fifth floor of a BDA apartment complex near Kannamangala in east Bengaluru while she was cleaning.
The deceased has been identified as Kushboo Ashish Trivedi, 32, a resident of Vindhyagiri apartment complex at Doddabanahalli. The incident took place at around 4 pm on Thursday but the police revealed details only after carrying out a preliminary investigation.
An officer said, “Kushboo was cleaning the window and the dust on the corridor walls. She had climbed atop a wooden shoe rack to clean the glass and had kept the sliding door of the window open. She slipped and fell to the ground through the air shaft of two towers of the apartment complex. Other residents and family members rushed her to a private hospital, but the doctors declared her dead.”
On a complaint by Kushboo’s father Chandrakanth Trivedi, the police have taken up an unnatural death case. “When the incident took place, her husband and in-laws were inside the flat and her domestic help was also present,” the officer said.
“Kushboo married Trivedi Ashish Harish Kumar seven years ago. The couple did not have children. They lived on the fifth floor of the 17-storey building which has about 750 flats. There was no safety mesh in the open space, which caused her to fall,” the officer added.
Social activist Subhash S has also filed a complaint demanding action against the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) for not complying with safety measures in the apartment.
