All the passengers in the car died on the spot after the vehicle they were travelling in caught fire following the collision.
Eight people from a family died in a road accident on Saturday night after the CAR they were travelling in collided with a truck coming from the opposite side on the Nainital Highway.
The incident took place in Uttar Pradesh’s Bhojipura in Bareilly district. According to the police, the deceased involved seven adults and one child. The family was from Uttarakhand’s Bahedi village.
All the passengers in the car died on the spot after the vehicle they were travelling in caught fire following the collision. The car driver of the SUV lost control of the vehicle after it suffered a tyre puncture.
“The accident occurred on the highway near Bhojipura. A car collided with a truck. The car got dragged and then caught fire. The car was centrally locked, hence the people inside the car lost their lives due to the fire,”
Bareilly SSP Ghule Sushil Chandrabhan was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
He informed that the bodies were taken out and have been sent for post-mortem. Further action in the matter is underway.
