Article 370 Hearing LIVE Updates: The Supreme Court on Monday upheld the abrogation of Article 370 and directed the Election Commission to hold polls in Jammu and Kashmir by September 2024. The apex court also directed that steps be taken to restore statehood to Jammu and Kashmir as soon as possible. Delivering the big judgment, which was ‘unanimous’, CJI said President’s exercise of abrogation was not “mala fide”. A five-judge Constitution bench headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud delivered the verdict in three separate judgments, which CJI said were unanimous.
