Tech News Today in India: Ubisoft has launched Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, a video game where you play as Na’vi from the James Cameron movie. It is available on multiple platforms like the PlayStation, Xbox and PC.

In other news, Microsoft has deprecated the Speech Recognition feature, which was introduced on Windows Vista in 2006 and replaced it with Voice Access. Beeper Mini, an Android app that brings Apple iMessage to the platform, is now working to bring FaceTime audio and video call support for Google’s operating system.

    Ubisoft’s Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora now available for download

    Inspired by James Cameron’s Avatar universe, Ubisoft’s Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is a first-person action-adventure game that is set on the Western Frontier of Pandora. Gamers play as an orphan Na’vi, who who abducted and trained by the Resource Development Authority (RDA). The open-world game looks similar to the movie and is available on PlayStation, Xbox and PC.

    Microsoft replaces Speech Recognition with Voice Access

    Microsoft has added another tool to its list of deprecated features on Windows. The latest one to go is Speech Recognition, a handy tool that was introduced in 2006 with Windows Vista.

    On Windows 11 22H2 or newer, it is now replaced by the Voice Access feature that was introduced earlier this year.

    AMD announces new Ryzen AI APUs

    AMD unveiled Ryzen 8040 and Ryzen 8050 – two new Ryzen AI APUs for consumers at its Advancing AI presentation. While the Ryzen 8040 is based on the company’s existing Zen 4 architecture, the new processor comes with a dedicated AI processing hardware offering up to 40 per cent more performance compared to the Ryzen 7040.

    The next-gen Ryzen 8050 will debut sometime next year with XDNA 2 NPUs, which is said to offer 3x more performance compared to its previous version.

    Apple might launch new iPad Air and Pro in March 2024

    Apple usually launches new iPads every year, but 2023 seems to be an exception. However, a new report by Bloomberg suggests that the tech giant is working on a new version of the iPad Air, which will reportedly be available in two screen sizes.

    The Cupertino based company might also be gearing up to launch a new iPad Pro with OLED screen and the recently launched M3 chipset.

    Beeper Mini will get FaceTime support in the ‘near future’

    Beeper Mini, an app that brings native iMessage support to Android recently announced that it has plans to add support for FaceTime audio and video calls in the future. The developers also seem to be working on bringing RCS and SMS onboard. However, they did not share any timeline on when the new features will be available.
